Who We Are
The McOnie Company is the hot-blooded dance company with ‘Rock n’ Roll swagger’ (The Observer). The company is led by Olivier Award winning director and choreographer Drew McOnie, whose work has been described as having ‘the explosive feel of barely contained ecstasy’ (Chicago Times).
The McOnie Company was launched to celebrate the notion of what a Theatre-Dancer is and holds audiences at the centre of its creative mission. We are committed to creating exhilarating and vibrant dance-led theatrical works for today that push boundaries. Our wild-hearted company presents both known titles reimagined for the stage, alongside brand new original work under the umbrella of The Engine Room.
2020 marks the beginning of two new partnerships for The McOnie Company. As well as being a proud Associate of London’s Old Vic, the company is delighted to also now be working with Playful Productions and the Birmingham REP on an ambitious new series of projects to thrill audiences.
