Today we’re launching a DIGITAL DANCE FESTIVAL!
This is an example of a news story. A news story is a more formal post about an exciting development […]
I fly home today but first I am heading out to New Jersey to spend some time with the brilliant producers behind the US tour of our production of Jesus Christ Superstar. I am hoping they might be interested in supporting the McOnie Company in some of our other areas of creativity. More on that hopefully soon!
Exciting meeting with Luke Halls this morning discussing all the possibilities of the projection in The Artist. Very cool to be thinking about how the words in the ‘Inter-Title’ moments could be projected to give a deeper understanding of the characters emotional intention in the way an actors voice might. Fingers crossed we can make it work with his schedule to have him join the team. Also had a fun meeting with Bill Damaschke, one of the producers on The Artist who is based in NYC. LIndsey and I caught him up on where we are at with the story and music. His warmth and excitement reminded me just how lucky we are to have him part of the show.
AMAZING day spent with Lindsey in her gorgeous apartment working on the ‘script’ for The Artist. We laughed a lot. She was incredibly supportive of what I had written but did find my habit of adding random capital letters mid sentence for no reason amusing. We left the day both feeling very excited about where the story is at! Lets hope the rest of the creative team and producers feel the same.
More writing work and specific focus on how we might approach the film score in our theatrical adaptation in The Artist. I also went to see West Side Story on Broadway to prepare for my meeting with the shows projection designer Luke Halls who I am meeting to discuss the Artist with while I’m in NYC. I loved it. I found the whole thing very inspiring!
